Turku experiment concludes with success
The second week team spent finalising materials for the live experiment, doing tests and rehearsals and also set up projectors for the upcoming event, ensuring that the visual elements will have the desired impact.
The final experiment of the REVIVE project in Turku ended on a high note, showcasing an impressive blend of artistic creativity and community engagement. Over two weeks of intensive work, the team created and performed a captivating video mapping artwork that reflected the past, the present and the future of the Varvintori area.
Collaborative Artistic Creation
The process for the artistic work proceeded smoothly, with everyone involved in the creation and performance of the video mapping piece. This artwork integrated numerous elements collected throughout the bootcamp and during the two-week experiment at Varvintori. The result was a visually stunning display that captivated the audience and successfully represented the spirit of the project.
Positive Reception and Community Engagement
The final event was met with enthusiastic feedback from the audience, with many attendees sharing positive comments. Spontaneous conversations sparked during the event highlighted the community’s engagement, showing that the experiment resonated with local participants and onlookers alike which was one of the main goals of the experiment.
Looking Ahead: Feedback and Future Development
On the last day, the team gathered valuable feedback and development insights from the Young Talents involved in the project. These insights will be used to refine the methodology for future experiments. Overall, the Turku experiment was deemed a success, opening new possibilities for further developing Varvintori and activating the community. The project has paved the way for future development of this area and hopefully will start the conversation about within the local community, especially decision making structures.
