The REVIVE journey in Cellino Attanasio has officially begun. From the very first day, the historic center and the ex Chiesa di Santo Spirito have become a vibrant ground for exploration, exchange, and imagination.
What started as a simple visit has quickly turned into a dynamic laboratory of ideas, fueled by the energy of young talents, the warmth of the local community, and the timeless charm of the town.
Day One: discovering Cellino, guided by its young voices
Monday, March 31st marked the beginning of the experiment. The participants of REVIVE were welcomed by the voices and smiles of the students from a local middle school. Acting as guides, the young residents led the team through the narrow streets, hidden corners, and historical landmarks of Cellino Attanasio.
This encounter was more than a welcome—it was a spark. An exchange of gazes, stories, and curiosities that set the tone for a week of deep connection and creative momentum.

Brainstorming begins: dividing paths, shared purpose
From the second day, the team dove into the brainstorming phase. Divided into groups based on skills and interests, they began shaping the vision for the transformation of the ex-church:
Architecture Group: Focused on the spatial reimagination of the church’s interior—sketching, modeling, and envisioning new uses for a sacred and now silent place.
Branding & Artistic Direction Group: Tasked with giving identity to the future hub. Colors, names, symbols, and narratives were explored to reflect the spirit of the space and the people it will welcome.
Cultural Valorization Group: Began developing materials to communicate the vision—drafting content for the upcoming website, crafting informative pieces, and mapping cultural opportunities.
Evolving work and local encounters

As the days unfolded, so did the depth of the work.
The architecture team progressed from concept to prototype, actively collaborating with local artisans to bring physical forms to their ideas. Hands met materials, and theory began to take shape.
Meanwhile, the other groups ventured deeper into the town. They conducted interviews with residents, exchanged ideas with the vice-mayor, and visited a small exhibition of “hidden treasures” inside Cellino’s ancient tower—a collection of forgotten objects, rich with stories.
This intimate look at the town’s identity offered fresh inspiration, weaving local culture into every layer of the REVIVE vision.
Roots and resources: community as foundation

Parallel to the creative process, one truth remained constant: the project is not possible without the community.
Every conversation, every shared meal, every rediscovered object added a thread to the growing tapestry of the REVIVE experiment. Collaborations with local professionals, shops, and resource providers became crucial—not just for materials, but for meaning.
The potential of recycling, reusing, and honoring what already exists is central to the philosophy being cultivated here.
Looking ahead

As we step into the second week, the focus will shift from imagination to realization. The ideas born from dialogue, observation, and experimentation will begin to materialize through installations and tangible interventions.
Stay tuned—what is emerging in Cellino Attanasio is more than a project. It’s a conversation between past and future, between place and people, between vision and reality.
